2008 China Olympics Equestrian Events arena in Hong Kong - artist's rendition. Next year's Olympics riding arena footing was completed in the fall of 2007, Oliver Hoberg was the expert consultant hired by the Chinese Olympics Organizing Committe to design and supervise the installation. The IOC now requires any host city to create Olympics facilites which will be well used in the future, hence the move of the equestrian events, where ShaTin and Happy Valley racetracks are heavily used - and which have TurfTrack grass track courses.
2008 Summer Olympics in China :: We provide the latest in equestrian footing products, imported directly from the German manufacturer under the brand name ProEquus™ (please see letter of authenticity below).
The ProEquus™ Arena Base System is used for outdoor or indoor classical equitation/dressage or showjumping arenas (you may be familiar with an older version of this system, which I believe is still in use at the Georgia Horse Park, from the previous Atlanta Summer Games).
We are direct-importing the Summer Olympics Equestrian Arena footing systems from the original German Designer/Engineer/Manufacturer.

Of course, StabiliGrid™ is the original eco-friendly pervious paving alternative, German-engineered and manufactured for decades.
Please Note: these are NOT the low-quality, imitation grids (brittle and fracture-prone imitations, manufactured from HDPE), with which some North American customers may have been familiar previously (we import and distribute on the world's top-quality riding systems).
This is the original, FLEXIBLE, pervious, government-certified-for-public-roadways-and-bridges system.
StabiliGrid in civil engineering: used for erosion control and steep slope stabilization on the AutoBahn. HoofGrid increasing milk production: installed in a dairy operation turnout paddock. Because the cows may lay down without mud, the more comfortable cows with lower stress levels produce more and higher grade milk. StabiliGrid pervious grass parking area installation and layout.

StabiliGrid low-environmental-profile, low-environmental-impact water-permeable highway and road construction. StabiliGrid pervious highway, notice the absence of roadside ditches and culverts. Because the roadway does not create incrememental stormwater runoff, much less native soil is disturbed during roadway construction, and a narrower roadway easement allows less disturbance of the ecosystem. Caterpillar steel-tracked earthmoving equipment and articulated trucks driving directly on top of the exposed StabiliGrid geogrids. This demonstrates the flexibility of the StabiliGrid pervious paver systems.

 Stock Pen Construction:
44 ton dump trucks and Caterpillars driving on top of HoofGrid during a multi-use riding arena construction project. HoofGrid installed in a cattle turnout - note the edges of the grids support the cattle's hooves, while 82% of the surface is porous soil.

ABOUT PERFECT FOOTING AND HOOFGRID: You may have seen HoofGrid and Perfect Footing at the Americana Reidsport in Augzburg, Germany. The previous year (2005), both were also used exclusively at the Annual Fest der Pferde, held in Vienna to commemorate the centennial of Mozart's passing (a "hometown boy," his concertos are favorite music for competitions and shows worldwide).
This past spring at the Equitana, . . . and just last week in Austria at the FEI-sponsored competition: they had 72 hours of torrential rainfall, right up to the morning of the first day. The outdoor arena as "perfect" within an hour of the downpour ceasing.
The FEI officials were "shocked and dumbfounded," expecting to cancel the opening day events or postpone for 24 hours. Instead, they used the best riding surface available in the world. Letters, articles & TV News videos to follow . . .
When I asked Joachim Laengle, our partner and the owner of Pro-Equus in Austria, "Joe, do you have anyone in Europe that would give us a letter-of-recommendation for the HoofGrid, as well as for the Perfect Footing? You know, somebody that American riders may have met, or read about?"
Joe started rattling off "a few respected horsemen in Europe," that he assured us would give a product recommendation to any American who telephoned them. Here are the ones I could scribble down, do you recognize any of them?
Joe suggested, "Call any of the following, and ask any of them about Pro-Equus, Ecoraster, or Pro-Flex, etc. They will provide a recommendation over the telephone. Call Christine or Georg Wahl, or Vanja Babic, Tina, or call Kronsteiner if you can find him at home."

Georg Wahl: Joe's neighbor in Austria (now in his 80's, he also is the Former Director of the most-prestigious Spanish Riding School, Retired)
About Georg: "George Wahl [sic] should be blessed for life. If his knowledge disappears, the equestrian world and Belgium will suffer a great loss."

Christine Stückelberger: (Georg Wahl is Christine's mentor).
Christine is also, a 5-time Olympic medalist in Equestrian Events, and 4-time world championship medalist.

May I also suggest that you consider installing it yourself? Or, any competent landscaping company should be able to perform a correct installation - if they will follow a few simple instructions.
Many persons have considered installing our systems to be a Do-it-yourself or "a couple of guys with a wheelbarrow and some shovels" type of project.
HoofGrid installation, step 1: prepare and level the soil and minimal leveling layer. HoofGrid installation, step 2: certified rate of installation = 100 m²/man-hour (app. 1,000 square feet per worker per hour). HoofGrid installation, step 3: backfilling and top cover application. Note that topsoil and grass seed may be applied, to provide a high-strength and heavy duty paddock or runout surface, while remaining flexible and bearing up to 35 US Tons / ft².

TurfTrack™ Features & Benefits
Cost-Effective Racing
The StrathAyr® Track is significantly more cost-effective than other natural turf construction options due to the unlimited life of the track profile, lower maintenance costs, no cancellations and greater usage.
More Racing
The ability to handle all types of weather conditions, combined with high load bearing capabilities, better wear resistance and faster recovery after damage provides racecourse managers with the opportunity to host more races and increase their returns.
Safer Racing
The technology provides greater surface uniformity and the action of the ReFlex® mesh elements provides a cushioning effect on impact, lowering the potential for injury.
Throughout 17 years of racing there has never been a fast rating on any of the ReFlex® tracks.
All Weather
There has never been a wet weather cancellation on a StrathAyr® Track or sportsfield.
The drainage capability for each project is designed to suit local climatic conditions.
Prevents Compaction
The unique application of ReFlex® mesh elements provides the load bearing capability of a secondary bitumen road which enables horses, trucks and turf equipment to travel over the surface in all weather conditions without compaction.

Longer Life
The compaction resistance provided by the inclusion of ReFlex® mesh elements provides a greatly extended life of the rootzone profile.
Profile Design
The StrathAyr® Track design remains consistent across all countries. Only the drainage design and turf species selection will vary according to the climate.
The StrathAyr® design team supported by RootZone Laboratories International have developed this capacity to construct fields with consistent performance despite the need to use different sands and gravels for almost all projects.
Track Management
This hi-tech track is easier to manage than conventional profiles.
Moonee Valley records show the StrathAyr® Track requires less irrigation and has a lower maintenance cost than conventional profiles.
Installation
Precision installation of the system is facilitated by a number of machines, purpose-designed by StrathAyr® .

Nonpoint Source Pollution Education for Municipal Officials
Through various projects and funding sources, BRPC is providing education to municipal officials regarding polluted runoff or "nonpoint" source pollution. The program identifies the different types of pollutants associated with different land uses. The goal of the education program is to help municipal officials recognize the environmental impacts of land use planning decisions. NEMO presentations are available to all communities upon request.
MASS / GOV also has plenty of information about NEMO, and the necessity that Municipal Employees discontinue specifying construction standards or materials which create NONPOINT water pollution.
The importance and "how to's" of eliminating and/or reducing NONPOINT water pollution:
